An electronic candle holder uses a processor that can detect when a coin has been inserted, in order to light a candle completely automatically.
A gesture-operated candle holder simulates the actions of the faithful who traditionally take a candle, light it, and place it in the designated compartment.
Only in electronic candle holders is it mandatory to insert a coin or a banknote to light the votive candle. In manual candle holders, the offering is left to the faithful’s freedom of conscience.
